Overview
Linda Forrest can help you find new forest properties and get accurate and up-to-date information about the forests you own. It serves the needs of production planners, directors, and silviculture planners working for forestry investors, sawmills, and big forest owners. For evaluation and sustainable forestry practices, it's crucial to get accurate predictions of the wood volume and assortment per property.
The goal was to design a new SaaS platform on top of the current app serving the specific needs of the existing clients. The challenge was to create a scalable and resilient system that, on top of a standardized set of features, supports custom features tailored to the client's needs and country-specific features.
The solution
The work started with understanding how the industry works and who are the users of the service. Next, we began to work from low fidelity concepts into more detailed prototypes. As the data is the core of the service, it was vital to ensure its good legibility. As a rather complex system, a constant feedback loop from stakeholders and existing clients was at the core of the process.
The app has two main tools: In Linda Scout, users can search and buy forest property data using credits. The tool is valuable when companies search for new forest properties to buy. Linda Metrics provides an overview of all the forest assets you already own.
